I understand your frustration. These .99 auctions where the postage is more than the final bid is puzzling also. Usually when I check to see what other items the seller has it's a drop-shipper or a wholesaler that is able to sell thousands of items at a time. A lot of these sellers are international, from Asia, UK or Australia. I have never seen a way to profit on Ebay as a small seller. By the time you pay the fees, pay for the shipping material (people yell at you if the shipping price you charge them is more than the postage on the package), pay for the gas to make the trip into the PO, you've eaten up your profit. Take heart though, I have a friend that is making half of her income on Ebay selling stuff from her music store.....the old stuff that is taking up room, old stock that was paid for a long time ago. Sometimes she finds some interesting garage sale stuff the is actually WORTH something and places it up for bids. Antique items that are in demand. She did her homework looking up what was selling on Ebay and found her niche alongside those items and seems to do okay.So if you happen to have a large stock of stuff from a business or have access to stuff without having to spend a lot of money, I guess it's possible.
