Campaign finance law in Massachusetts requires gathering and reporting specific information when accepting campaign contributions. For contributions above $50, names and residence address is required, For contributions above $200, occupation and employer name are also required. These are in addition to logging verification that contributors are US citizens and few other standing regulations. There are so many questions about and intentions to use PayPal for political campaign contributions, but I cannot find anywhere that PayPal has provided the tools required to force collection of the required information along with a contribution. If I am wrong, where is it? If I am correct, why not, since it would be so easy for PayPal to do and thereby allow many to legally and properly collect and document campaign contributions!
