PayPal sure is a pal! Use paypal for more than Ebay. I've had incidents when trying to sell locally or buy locally and the cash is just not available though an ATM. In one instance I was selling my motorcycle and the guy buying it couldn't get enough money out of the ATM because he had reached his daily limit. Well I was able to make the sale because PayPal was available. Just remember to take into account of the % fee for the amount. I charged the guy the fee that way I wouldn't take a loss on my end. In another scenario I was driving along and was hit by another car, well the guy didn't want to go through the police and insurance reports. I actually felt sorry for the dude and had him pay me my $500.00 insurance deductible. Even though there wasn't any damage on my car. PayPal has sure been a convenient tool. With it's up to date real time updates I was able to complete both of these transactions in a matter of minutes confirming the receipt of funds easily and closing the deal! I'm active duty Army and in a war zone I sure would not use my credit/debit card to make local bill payments in Iraq. There's a lot of unknowns especially when the company your dealing with has a foreign name that you just don't trust. I used paypal to make my monthly internet service payments in Iraq. The added security from PayPal always kept me from getting wrongfully billed. Cash money is scarce in Afghanistan and Iraq due to it's shipping weight and any time I needed to make a payment or transaction with a fellow soldier PayPal was the man to go with. It provided the service needed even in a War Zone!
