Today I woke up to two emails: one stating that two factor authentication was added to my account (to someone else's phone number) and one stating that my email has changed. I confirmed my bank card number so that I could change the password, but I cannot log into the account (due to not passing 2FA) as such that I can turn 2FA off. I know the email they used to log in, as it was listed to me in the email from PayPal. Is there any way to get back into this account? PayPal won't let me do security checks with any method other than phone number.
