So I had a personal PayPal account for years. Never used it for business. I started a business. Wanted to create a PayPal Business account. Happened to log into my personal account with a banner that suggested I create a "seller page". I thought this was talking about a business account. So I set up the page, but all it did was create a PayPal.me/BusinessName account I didn't want that... I went to settings and saw that you can actually "Upgrade your account to a business account" I wanted the functionality to create invoices and accept payments. This is the option for me. It gave me two options (a) close your account completely and create a new one (b) keep your account I can't close my account. I have a personal PayPal credit card... It did not explain that by choosing (B) I would lose the PayPay.me/BusinessName that I JUST created. I still have it. But it's on my personal Paypal account as a "Seller page". Now- my new business account which is ACTUALLY a business account can't use this link and has already started taking transactions via Invoice emails. This might not seem like a big deal ("Just change the name slightly" like "TheBusinessName" or "BusinessNamePay") but literally 100% of my social media and website are all the exact same. I guess I'm just frustrated because the wording of the option to create a real business account implied that I would be able to "convert" my account somehow. The verbiage is disappointing. Is there no way to delete my personal account "seller" PayPal.me page so I can use that exact username on my new business account?
