I have 2 PayPal accounts, one for business which works OK, and one personal, which I use for Ebay and other personal payments. The personal account kept asking me to change my password...I'd change it, and within the next few times it would say "PayPal is protecting you, we've noticed some unusual activity and you need to change your password now. There's no way around it other than to change the PW. I finally contacted support and they reset it and said it should be fine now. Sure enough, a couple of weeks later, after several normal ebay purchases, I got the dreaded "Paypal is looking out for you" message.
I was trying to use Paypal to renew a data subscription, and fortunately they offered an Amazon payment option, which I then chose instead, and went through without incident.
So, Paypal, if you want me to use your service, you need to make it convenient. There is no "unusual activity" and having to change the password practically every time I log in is ridiculous. If someone had made a fraudulent purchase, or I had been notified of an attempt, fine, but it's just been normal everyday activity, and I'm done using that Paypal account for anything if I have to change the password every time.
There are all sorts of viable options for security...phone text codes, email notifications of suspicious activity, and more, but having to change passwords continually with no other option is not acceptable, and you've lost me as a customer. If the business account starts doing this, you will lose that too. There are plenty of other options, and making it easy on the customer is a primary consideration.
