Here's my situation: I sold someone a graphics card via PayPal invoice. He claims it's broken and hints at the idea of returning it back to me for a refund. I offer help and tell him to try it on another computer, to which he acknowledges that it works on another computer, just not his main computer. I don't know the reason for that but the graphics card worked on my hands and he has proven that to be the case as it clearly works on another computer. However, because he can't get it to work on his main computer, he has given me an ultimatum: 1) He will attempt to RMA it through the graphics cards' manufacturer with my original invoice, 2) he returns it to me for a refund, 3) he sells it himself. I don't agree with his ultimatum because 1) RMA will be too long of a process and is not a 100% guarantee, 2) I will eat roughly $70 in fees + shipping costs for something that's not my fault, 3) again, he's acknowledging that it works because if the card was truly broken, how could he sell it? Is this my responsibility? What should I do here? The graphics card WORKS, just not on his main computer, but I really don't think it's my responsibility to find out why. I truly feel bad for him, but I can't eat $70 and still have to deal with the mess afterwards because I feel bad for him. I've thought about offering him a partial refund just to end it and have him deal with it on his own. Is that more than fair?
