I am putting together a simple shopping cart setup for our business website using Paypal's "Add to Cart buttons. We sell one-of-a-kind items, handmade woodcarvings. I am using Paypal's inventory management system to track stock of the items (each item is set as "1") but I was wondering if there is a (simple) way to have the button or status of the item on our catalog page reflect its sold or unsold status. For instance, right now the catalog page says "Item Name: Available" and the "Add to Cart button is on the item's description page. Someone can buy the item and future possible buyers will see "out of Stock" if they try to buy the item also, but it is dependent on me to go to our catalog page and mark each item "Sold" after someone has completed a purchase transaction. There will obviously be times when I'm out of the office, away from the computer, or whatever, when an item may be marked as "Available" on the site catalog and yet be sold and out of stock in reality, due to a customer buying it via Paypal transaction, just because I have not yet had time to mark it sold on the site. It would be ideal if there was a simple way to automate this, to have the Paypal "Add to Cart" button become a "Sold" button once a buyer has fully completed a purchase. It would save me work and save potential buyers the irritation of adding something to their cart only to find it is already sold once they go to complete the transaction. Is there a simple way to do this? I'm aware that there are complex ways via PHP and scripting and such, but I know next to nothing about most of that stuff and am hoping there may be an easier way. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide!
