You know.... I just thought of something that might actually be more helpful than solidarity. Did you try contacting the phone number on the back of your card? This is the number to the issuing bank, and not to Paypal. When I first tried getting my issue resolved that is the number that I called. Unfortunately, they were unable to do anything about Paypal's new login procedures and directed me to contact Paypal themselves, but it's been so many years since I had my problem that I might have actually had it resolved by the issuing bank. They are clearly from the US, will not leave you on hold for an hour before picking up the phone, and might actually be the only ones who could really help you out in the first place. I don't think the overseas call center people they staff at Paypal actually have much power or authority to do anything for customers. Ask them if there is anything that they can do to restore your credit score, and if there are any late fees let them know that you're entirely willing to pay them and that you have an excellent credit history and this was just a lapse in judgement. That's what I did and she helped me out. Just remember, call them when you're not in a bad mood and be nice to them. I've worked in a call center before. It's not a great job, especially if your customers yell all the time. I find that most operators will gladly take extra steps out to help out friendly people on the phone. The longer they're helping you out, the longer it will be until they get another nasty customer they have to deal with. Good luck!
