To whom it may concern: I had made several donations to a friend over paypal. When making payments, I always selected my linked bank card to draw the money from in order to make the payments. On the 4th payment, I also selected my bank card to have the funds drawn from in order to make the donation. When I checked my bank statement, only a portion of the money had been withdrawn, so I checked the Paypal record and it showed that of the approximate $20.00 I sent, only $8.00 came out of the bank card bank which I had selected for the donation to come from and the other 12.00 had come from my Paypal account balance which I had not selected to pay the amount of the donation money transfer being made. It seems to me like an unauthorized transaction, since I had selected that the payment be drawn from my bank card bank I had linked to my Paypal account and not from my Paypal balance which had been funded by other sources. Maybe it's all the same, maybe it's not, but that said, why did Paypal or its employees make an executive decision on my behalf to fund my donation from my account balance and not from my card on the 4th transaction when it had never withdrawn funds my account balance on any other previous transactions where I personally selected my bank card as the option from where the money would be drawn for the donation? Could it be considered criminal to do such a thing as making a executive decision to make multiple transactions in order to fund a donation/payment when only one source was selected by me personally?
