I cannot figure out what my customer (or PayPal) is doing. I am using a Pay Now (Buy Now) PayPal Button with both the success payment url set and the cancel payment url set. Most of my clients do NOT have PayPal accounts and may not want one, so I enable guest checkout. So far so good. Both urls work when I test them as long as I follow the Required Process. 1. Fill in Credit Card Information and complete the payment. 2 When PayPal completes - I am asked to create may account. 3. I click the tiny little link to skip the account creations 4. I return to the payment success page. NOTE: PayPal's notice of cookies COVERS UP the tiny little link to skip creating an account so a client must clear the notice in order to see the link to skip. Here is the issue: I have never had a customer 'cancel' their payment but some customers complain loudly that they are returned to the 'cancel' url AFTER they pay with a credit card (using guest checkout). Both the customers and I get a confirmation email that the payment was made. Can someone tell me what the customer might be doing. Options: After they pay, they are asked to create an account! near the bottom is a little link (button) that says "Skip" or 'Skip for now". My observation is that if they click skip they are returned to my payment success page. What happens if AFTER they pay, they do NOT SEE the skip and DO NOT WANT and ACCOUNT and ???? Is there a timeout that returns to cancel url because they do not create and account. What other actions would take them to the cancel url? I really need to know what is going on. the complaints keep coming in and they suggest I do not use PayPal -they hate it. This link is to another customer with same issue. https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/Merchant-Products-and-Services/PayPal-buttons-purchase-cancellation/m-p/2007093#M12833
