I have made a report to the police, and a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman, after PayPal Europe twice, with no reason, refused to rectify a hack and theft from my account of several hundred pounds. I have audio files of a conversation with an operative named Jay, in the Philippines, assuring me the digital debt would be wiped within 24 hours. The FCA clearly state the onus is not on the customer to prove an unauthorised transaction, but upon the bank in extremis to prove it was authorised by the customer. PayPal's refusals to appeals raised by Pay Pal staff appear to be automated and immediate. I request my balance be restored to its correct level within 24 hours. I can post the audio file if that is of assistance. I would suggest to other community users that all of us very seriously consider a joint class action against Paypal regarding this. I am canvassing solicitors as of now. I repeat - it is not the responsibility of the customer to prove an unauthorised transaction. The responsibility is on the financial service to prove a transaction was authorised. PayPal are flouting UK and European Law. They appear completely unwilling to respond to direct appeals. I feel a class suit is the only just resort. If anyone would be willing to be an applicant in any such action, just reply here. Clearly this message is also intended for the company to have an opportunity to reimburse my negative balance..I feel the issue still should be addressed legally though, on behalf of us all Thank you.
