I signed up for a free trial for a subscription service and they ended up charging me for a years subscription even though I no longer want the service. I asked them for a refund but all they were telling me is their financial team is going to determine if I am eligible for a refund. I opened a dispute with paypal while the payment was still pending, but it ended up being charged. Now the company is messaging me telling me I need to cancel the dispute before they can issue a refund. Should I cancel the dispute? Why would they need me to cancel the dispute before proceeding?
