Your choice & lucky you to also have a signal or WiFi wherever you go. I am aware of it but understand it is dependant upon 3 things, viz: 1. Mobile network provider provides/supports it, 2. Mobile phone make & model capable & supports it, 3. Most vital the combination of 1 & 2 above enabled & working together so actual operation of WiFi calling in real world. Meeting all 3 both restricts the user to few networks & models of phone as well as usually a premium on mobile account. Hopefully in time with WiFi calling now embedded with base latest Android & more people home working in properties with no/poor signal it will become more prevalent but compared to single factor authentication ( or 2 factor using say email option rather than mobile ) it will not provide same ease or connectivity to PayPal account that account holders have had to press over the years. For a global account/payment process to simply rely on mobile telecomms as it’s only 2 factor authentication fails to meet the needs of such users & highlights if the case the basic lack of risk assessment with mobile telecomms in the real world. What customers want be it 2,3 or whatever levels of authentication is robust operation in real world that offers more than 1 option for when things go wrong, inc mobile network problems/down...If PayPal are unable to support then alternatives will always be sought for such affected users, time will tell.
