Paypal informed me that one of my transactions looked suspicious so they are holding the funds and reviewing the transaction. They further informed me at the time that if I refunded the money to the person that they would immediately remove the hold. The problem is that I had already refunded the money to the person about half an hour after they sent it to me. But Paypal never bothered to look at the next transaction on my account where they would have seen the refund. It is absolutely ridiculous. I have sent them numerous messages explaining thoroughly the reason for the transactions (the purchase and the refund) and nothing ever happens. Even if I hadn't already refunded the money, the transaction was legitmate. I was confronted by the sender one evening who was desperate for a Lyft ride to get home but she had no money on her credit card and Lyft does not take Paypal. So I ordered her a Lyft ride through my account and she sent me $20 to pay for it. Then the sender found another way home and asked me to cancel the Lyft ride. I canceled the ride at no cost to me and immediately sent the sender her $20 back. Weeks later, Paypal decided that my receipt of the $20 was suspicious and they have to review it and are holding funds in my account. But I have no money in my account so my account is negative $20. How do I get their attention? There is no reason to hold funds that have already been refunded.
