I, unfortunately have been scammed by Chinese sellers using Facebook Ads (twice actually). If you order a product from one of these sellers through a Facebook ad, what you get is a low priced piece of junk instead. Paying by Paypal is a waste of time if you are hoping for protection from Paypal. They will investigate and come back with a offer from the seller to return the product, paying for the shipping (including the cost for tracking), then you may get a refund. What is ridiculous about this, is that the cost to return something to China with tracking can be as high as the cost to purchase, and many of these sellers do not answer requests through email (often emails come back undeliverable). These scammers know that most buyers will give up at this point, so successfully rip the buyer off. Paypal customer service doesn't respond to messages asking for help negotiating a better alternative, even if you try to phone (with a hour or more wait), then get the standard response (we will look into it). Messages get no response at all. I had hoped that Paypal would protect the buyers from these scammers, but they are useless, not interested at all. I think I get better response from my credit card customer service. They are at least honest, when they tell you they can't do much and explain why. I think Paypal has failed their buyers totally.
