Hello there. Surprised no one else answered this for you. This is old. And is a mistake on paypal's part - not your mistake. They have to sync THEIR backend up to get your account out of that mistaken 'purchase receipt' nonsense. That is, unless you are a merchant of some kind.... I would just disregard.

Yep, long time piece of crap it is. I work in cybersecurity and intelligence and posted it primarily for all the folks who have not received that kind of email and to provide some kind of background of what to look for in it. I wanted something posted in the chats for folks to search on if they wanted to. That was all. But even still, sometimes, these perps get lucky and snag experienced folks - it happens, none of us are infallible. We can never let our guard down, especially when it comes to one's finances (or life).

I had to remove the @ symbol throughout that text I posted above. I also could not label the topic with Scam or Junk or Perpetrator - but get the gist of it.

Just a heads up - email starting to come out regarding the recent paypal problem of our accounts being temporarily limited. I had to change the @ symbol after service a couple of times below - paypal does not allow it. @MLOR @montana_montana It was just restored. Last night, I did send a blistering 'chat' message via their "Messaging" window. Nothing else. No further texts or phone call - it was an automated fix for what is now appearing to be a global issue.

@originaltexan You should not waste your time on waiting for paypal, it is a global issue and they are fixing it through automation. Relax a bit instead of stressing (like all the rest of us....) - it is getting done. Between my first email notice and restoral, it was less than a day, less than many others here. I did not talk to anyone (I just sent a searing message via their 'chat' text window).

Yep, you got that right. Communicate, communicate, communicate... Just received the "services restored" email from them, ~30 minutes before you replied. I hope other members have theirs restored now as well... but it could be a rolling fix if not a group/block fix. Take care over there in the outback - stay safe with CoViD, while we yanks suffer through another few months CoViD with this, ahhh, idiotic/psychotic individual sitting in the White House. Best to ya.
