Last September I got a message from PayPal that due to "questionable activities" my account was restricted. Basically, I could not do anything with my account until I "resolved" the issues. Two things troubled me: 1. I hadn't had more than five transactions, all payments by me, in my account for the last two months. 2. PayPal would not divulge what "questionable activities" were associated with my account. 3. The "resolution" they wanted was to give them more than enough personal information to allow them to steal my identity. I was not willing to do this. I took my one automatic payment (to Patreon) deleted it. I then went to Patreon and switched it from PayPal to a credit card. I tried to close my PayPal account and it gave me nonsense about not being able to close an account that was under restrictions. I had no credit card associated with my account, but did have a bank account, which PayPal would not allow me to disconnect. I went to my bank and discussed the issue. At their advise I placed a "merchant hold" on PayPal so they would not be allowed to touch that account. I owe nothing to PayPal and I do not have any funds or income related to my PayPal account. They will still not let me close my account. I have zero activity reports from October, November, December, and January, but they still won't let me go. How do I get rid of this scam organization?
