I received this email this morning. I sold an item on eBay and the buyer is attempting a chargeback scam. I have the UPS tracking number and information. UPS provided me with a delivery receipt. there were three previous attempts to deliver this item and the buyer did not want to pay the $31 duty but after UPS waived the duty and attempted the fourth delivery the buyer is now saying they did not receive the item. We received notice from the buyer's financial institution that Case ID (blocked by myself) has been decided in the buyer's favor. However, because you’re a valued customer, we’re not debiting your PayPal account for the disputed amount. Does this mean that I have just been **bleep** out of money? Or does it mean that PayPal is actually protecting the seller? I can still see the funds in my PayPal activity . It says I have an option to accept the money. Since this was my first sale on ebay, most definitely my last, my account had been put on limitations so I'm waiting for them to review the two forms of documentation that they asked for. It allows me to accept the money but I cannot move the money anywhere. This was a $2,200 transaction by the way and I am absolutely **bleep**.
