That is exactly what they do and it doesn't matter if you call and ask them to allocate. They do exactly as they please. What I have done is look at the minimum to avoid interest and that is all that I pay, even though I would like to pay more some months. This has completely eliminated them allocating as they please. They have to put the payment towards the 6 month item that is expiring and the extra is the easy pay payment for that month. Works fine for me. I am just using their money longer. PayPal thinks people are too stupid to figure that out. ... View more

I have finally given up on trying to contact payPal credit. I never pay extra anymore. I only pay the minimum due to avoid finance charges. They can put it wherever they want as long as I don't get charged finance charges. I would like to get things paid off faster but with having to go through their craziness, I won't. In the end they are the losers. I am just using their money longer and not having to pay for it. ... View more

What do you suggest for ..taking this on? I agree with you 100%. My solution is just to make minimum payments, but set aside the overpayment that I would like to make. Then when it's due, pay it off. That way I get to make interest (little bit) and then I get the satisfaction of knowing that I have not fallen victim to their BS.. ... View more

You have to call every month and get transferred 2 or 3 times, get disconnected, call back, get transferrred 2 or 3 times. Then when you get to the right person and ask, sure they will do it but it takes them 2 or 3 billing cycles so you are still getting accrued interest. ... View more

I have the same problem as most everyone else! I have a 24 month easy pay and several 6 months no interest. Every single month I have to call to have my payments allocated to the 6 month purchases or all of it goes to the easy pay. So, when I call and ask they always wait for one to 2 billing cycles to make the change just so they can get the extra interest accrued. This seems so illegal and I know that they have been sued for similar practices. They do think we are stupid. Like someone else said...why can't they just make a check box as to where we want the payment allocated. I am able to do this with several other credit accounts so I know that it is not to difficult to do. Sure, Paypal is an easy way to pay for online purchases and I have never let things get to the point where I am paying interest, but I am paying everything off on this account and although, I am not going to close it, I am not going to use it for interest free purchases. They make a lot of money off the sellers when we buy things using PayPal, too bad that just isn't good enough for them. ... View more
