I made a purchase From what I thought was Ariat outlet for $135. An add popped up as an outlet on my Facebook page and I opened it and made my purchase using PayPal. The charges for the purchase on paypal statement totaled $99 not 135 and Were charged to MelanieMitchell and Gmail account was noted for contact. I Never received a confirmation of the order with itemized list of items purchased and did not see PayPal statement until the day after my purchase when papal send me an email. I Never received the items. Tracking Documentation On PayPal statement for this transaction shows that the items were delivered on the date of my order. How interesting! It’s a scam and it’s a fraud. I filed a dispute with PayPal, but they closed the case saying that the merchant provided a them tracking and delivery information . Really tracking information is included in my statement and it was there all along. And obviously PayPal never asked the merchant to provide the actual order information, an itemized list of items purchased, total, and the date of the order. Good thing i copy all of my orders to a pdf file, which PayPal does not seem to be interested in asking for or seeing to compare with info which should have been asked of the merchant to provide. What’s the point of only asking for tracking information which is already included in the PayPal statement. I requested a refund which of course paypal denied because the merchant provided tracking and delivery info!!!!!Really this info is already on the statement and again, the delivery date on tracking documentation is exactly the same date as the order date. PayPal failed To do its due diligence of researching the merchant and discovering the facts of the order. PayPal did not request all Relevant documentation to do proper research before choosing to close the file and letting the merchant free to steal $99 from me. Since the investigation was closed, PayPal System does not allow me to file a follow up dispute or to reopen the investigation. Also, I’ve sent repeated emails to the merchant noted on the PayPal invoice (to the Gmail account which should have give paypal a red flag) but of course I have not heard back from the merchant nor do I expect to. This is Fraud and a scam and PayPal is refusing to take action. PayPal don’t you have best interest of your consumers in mind shouldn’t you be protecting consumers And ensuring customer protections???? I am taking This case to the Florida state attorney’s office for investigation and will be making a complaint Against PayPal For not doing a proper investigation, for not taking steps to protect its consumers, for not doing due diligence to resolve complaints and against the merchant itself. Has anybody experienced similar situation or was scammed like this? Has anybody experienced PayPal’s poor, lazy and very relaxed investigation practices and Letting the scammers steal from Honest consumers. PayPal do u really care about finding and getting rid of scam and fraud? Maybe you need to put together a good manual on investigations and maybe you need a compliance and audit department Maybe you need to put together a manual on investigations and consumer services and practices, maybe more training for your current investigators, and maybe you need a compliance and an audit department. Do u really care about your consumers and reputation. I am also contacting my credit card company connected to PayPal account and raising a red flag with them. I Already asked them for help in resolving this. It’s a very good company with a great record and I have no doubt they will do their part. They never disappoint, unlike PayPal! . I think this will be the last transaction I’ve done with PayPal .... after 10 plus years of never disputing a charge. I will spread the word around!!! It’s very sad and disappointing to be experiencing such disregard for consumer protections and an unwillingness to stop fraud and scam
