About one month ago I sold an item through Ebay to a buyer in Sweden. The buyer paid up immediately, and the goods were shipped to him/her by Ebay's Global Shipping Programme, and were received on or around 8th July. The funds are showing on Paypal as being On Hold, and despite frequent attempts, I have been unable to release these funds. I am anxious to do so as the goods were sold on behalf of a 70 yr old friend who does not have access to Ebay, and who I am due to reimburse. I have contacted Ebay without much delay on three occasions, and they have finally admitted they are unable to request Paypal to release these funds. It is apparently impossible to speak to a human on Paypal, as all "chats" are done with a computer who gives 'stock' answers to queries by looking for key phrases, which doesn't help. Can anyone please advise me how to speak to someone with a real human brain on Paypal to get this resolved? Failing that, I intend to approach the financial press in London to put pressure on Paypal. I appreciate there are problems with Covid 19 , but Ebay and others manage to cope, so why can't Paypal? Any sensible advice appreciated. Thanks for reading this.
