Well after 9 days I believe I have won my dispute. It took a LOT of constant messaging on my part into the support line to push this dispute along. PayPal's dispute system seriously favors the seller. So unfortunately a lot of the situation is out of the buyers hands. While, the steps in order to receive a refund make sense for normal transactions (Item is delivered damaged, not as described etc.), it is absolutely horrible for scammed transactions. There should be a third option in the dispute system for if you believe you have been scammed. Instead of just "I didn't receive my item" or "the item was not as described". That way PayPal can follow a different set of validations to ensure the seller is legitimate. If you are going through the dispute process, I recommend going full on "Karen" and send in messages to the Dispute support team. Provide links to this thread, the fake scam site, and any other proof you may have. I requested that my case be escalated several times and had them make notes on the back end about my case for the investigating agent. Hang in there. I know its frustrating. I felt stupid for letting myself fall for the scam. But everyone makes mistakes, and this scam was designed to trick people. The fact that the site has PayPal, only further incites false security. Don't be too hard on yourself and keep pushing this case until it is resolved.
