I had old Paypal in 2012. The account has been empty for years. I forgot I had the account, so just made a new account to purchase some items. I don't know how it happened, but with auto sign ins for my computer, I must have made the purchase on the old $0 balance account. Now, I received an email from Paypal saying I have a -$81.73 balance.... makes sense as I must have used the old account in error! I contacted the seller, they did receive money from Paypal, and my goods were shipped already, so how can I fix this mess I made? I tried to transfer money to cover the negative balance, but was told my bank account info was wrong... makes sense as the old account does not exist, and it seems Paypal won't take money from my current account. I would like for Paypal to close the old account with the negative balance, and take out the $81.73 from the functional Paypal account which has money in it. I have no clue how to make the above fixed. ETA: I have tried to close old account - can't close if the balance is negative. I have tried to add my current bank card info to transfer money into old account - rejected and reply says something went wrong, I give up. I have spoken with the seller, and they will contact me if Paypal rejects the payment, I will then pay the seller again. There are no options in all of Help that 'help'. I need to 'talk' to someone either online or by phone, but cannot find that option. I guess the Paypal old account will stay negative as it refuses to allow me to correct the negative balance.
