I hate to be negative, but I ran into my first issue with PayPal. I sell watches in my spare time that I restore. The package never arrived, no problem... I have 100% feedback, and I would be upset if my package didn't arrive either. The customer filed a request for refund, so eBay held a request for funds from PayPal. Not sure if intentional, or if this is what eBay and PayPal does... but until I resolved that, I was unable to purchase or buy anything using PayPal. Totally locked my PayPal account from any further transactions. The buyer and I had both agreed to wait 30 days... maybe it got lost at the post office and didn't get shipped yet, and they'd find it? Regardless... there was nothing I could do. So I issued a full refund. I went looking for help on PayPal to figure out WHY I couldn't buy or receive funds. I had no idea... PayPal didn't tell me, "We've locked your account until you resolve this issue." I didn't even see it was an issue on PayPal until after I started digging into prior transactions. I figured this out on my own of course. But it took me like 20 minutes of clicking around, trying different browsers, thinking maybe it was a bad cookie or something. I tried looking for help, and you'd think PayPal would have a direct e-mail address? No, absolutely not. No matter what I clicked on, all it did was bring me to Questions and Answer sections. I finally found a place where I could send an e-mail, and you know what I got back? "Based on your content, we have provided the following automatic answers for you." What kind of nonsense is that? I clicked the chat button... took me to questions and answers. Look, I'm a Capitalist all the way around, but this service has become complete garbage. The fact that PayPal cannot even afford to pay for technical support people that are on-call... is completely absurd and ridiculous to me. This whole "Community" messaging section is garbage too. Let's con a bunch of well-intentioned people into doing our work for us, because we're too cheap to even afford a call center in Mumbai. Stating it right here and right now... the second a viable alternative becomes available, I am off PayPal faster than you can tell me I should hold on...
