I closed my greek paypal account and I opened a new Belgian paypal account using the same e-mail address. I had paid with the greek paypal account a hotel (payment to booking.com), which I recently canceled because of Coronavirus. Booking.com already made the refund and according to the receipt i received from them the refund will be made to the paypal account that I used in order to pay, which is now closed (!). According to the automated answer on the paypal website "If I paid with my bank account, the money is refunded to my PayPal account balance and then automatically transferred to my bank account." As long as the initial paypal account doesn't exist there will not be a PayPal account balance for the money to be refunded. It is impossible to contact the customer service due to Coronavirus and on the mails I send to them I receive automated answers mentioning the answers I can already find on the website. To be noted that there has been already 13 working days since the refund was made from booking.com. Has someone experienced something similar?
