Paypal employee told me that merchant on EBay has to accept BML in order to use it with Paypal. I asked if there was a way to link the two before making a purchase and he said no and you can't use BML with Paypal unless the merchant accepts it. I pointed out that if the Merchant accepts Bill Me Later why would I need Paypal? The purpose of this is to select PP on the merchant site in Ebay and then choose BML to fund the purchase. The instructions on both PP and BML make this clear. The instructions on PP Help indicated you can setup a link between BML and PP in advance. However, that function does not work. In fact, you can simply select PP as payment method and then log into PP. In the first screen you can change payment method and select BML. However, it is not intuitive or clear. I don't think it makes a hill of bean whether the merchant accepts BML and the person was simply reading a script. He could not seem to understand that BML is simply a method of funding PP just like linking a bank account. That is the whole point. I am going to try this one more time, but this time have delinked my bank account so it will have to ask me for a payment method once I log into PP to complete the transaction. The seller may get miffed because if there is no way to do it I am not going to complete the purchase, but I cannot figure out any other way to do it. You CANNOT set it up in advance despite what the Help Section on PP says.
