If they send a courier to pick up and you have no proof of delivery then they can dispute that you never sent the item. If they use a stolen credit card number the owner can dispute the charges even after it is paid and the money can be revoked. There are multiple craigslist posts here that explain exactly what you are asking. I just went thru the same thing. Funny thing is I reposted my item and the same guy came after me.

am getting them from England and many other countries they state a person will pick up the package. Read the posts here on Craigslists scams and you should learn the way I did. A person named Fred Millar and another by a girl named Anne today. Its unreal how many offers I am getting that way. They can arrange for a courier but not for a person to arrive with payment in hand...scam

Yes, he tried one more time last night after I explained his recommended payment provider explained that I would not have a way to show my delivery was covered. Stated I would get my payment long before he arranged pick up, so I told him unless the person arranging pickup brought cash it was a no go. LOL

Hahaha I already had e-mailed him back and asked if he could arrange that due to my inexperience receiving money that way. Ah well, lesson learned

Thank you, I did post the entire letter under another post I thought would be more helpful to myself and others in the same situation, including the set up of the e-mail. My thought here is that if an agent is picking up and shipping the item why cant he bring the cash on arrival?

This is a similar offer I am dealing with. Is it valid? This man states he is in the UK and affiliated with a church which immediately set of flags. One thing that concerns me too is the cost of setting up a paypal account just to receive funds on this item? Will this payment not cost me more than a cash payment? someone plz contact me via e-mail if they have heard of scams like this scu_nurse at yahoo.

I currently have an antique watch for sale and have an interested buyer who says send him a link and he will pay for it. He will then send an agent to pick up the watch and ship it to him. I havent used paypal for receiving funds and I am leery that after the watch is picked up he will then revoke payment in some way. Is anyone here able to help me feel better about this? It doesnt look like the typical scammer but I would appreciate some input from someone who knows more about selling Thanks so much
