I made the mistake of purchasing a replacement (non-authentic) MacBook charger. I purchased this charger on the 20th of December and I received it on the 2nd of January, which is 21 days ago. For the first approximate 10 days, it worked well. However, after this the charger began malfunctioning and acted really dodgy. The metal Magsafe charger would get ridiculously hot, to the point where it was scalding. So hot that it really did seem like a dangerous hazard as something could possibly alight if not supervised. I noticed that two of the charger pins had been pushed down and were stuck in a lower position, which is a potential cause of this. And about 5 days ago, the charger completely stopped working as two of the pins melted, and have now rendered it useless as the charger no longer fits into the charging port. I tried contacting them on their "Contact Us" feature on their website when the issue first arose, which was approximately 10 days ago. They did not respond to this, so I presumed the function was broken and I therefore contacted them through two of their emails (nearly 5 days ago), one which is listed on their message to buyers when opening a paypal dispute, and another from their website. As they have not responded, I am thinking of opening a PayPal dispute, however, I was wondering whether this is covered by PayPal's buyer protection? Many thanks.
