I recently had a customer negotiate a $40 price for a DVD set, THE TWILIGHT ZONE: THE COMPLETE SERIES DVD. Almost immediately after the customer paid for the item they requested a cancellation. The reason for the request they "OVERLOOKED" the title of the listing which clearly stated that the set was missing 1 dvd. The set is supposed to have 25 but disc 2 from season 1 was not again this was in the title as well as the item DESCRIPTION, and the buyer had over 4700 transactions so they were not new to buying. To the point of this post, how do I issue a refund less the paypal fees? The sale was $42.95 $2.95 tax $38.45 to my paypal account then $1.55 PayPal fees. When I go to the refund page it has the total $42.95 in the refund box and a rundown of the above amounts to each. EBay credits my final value fees back into my account but as I have read that $1.55 PayPal does not. Since it was no fault of mine, both myself and the buyer agree how do I make sure that they are refunded less the $1.55 it should be simple $38.45 minus the fees $1.55 or $36.90. I'm very diligent on my postings almost methodical so this is my first refund. Any ideas what I'm supposed to do here?
