My credit union gave me credit for the unauthorized amount and confirmed that someone within PayPal made it. So, I have no choice but to delete this account. Fortunately I did not give PayPal any new account numbers from my institution.

Sriraj, thank you. Forgive me for not responding sooner. Yes, when I asked at my credit union what Federal agency oversees PayPal, they began an investigation on my behalf. When I am settled, then I will telephone PayPal.

Earlier today I changed my account information at my financial institution. So, what PayPal has is no longer valid and I am not disclosing that information. I do not know what alternatives there are to PayPal. Having PayPal put me in the position to have to do that for failing to account for the unauthorized charge justified the change I made today. The financial institution is also going to research what government agency oversees matters such as what I tried to present here.

Siobhan, not possible. This is a public library computer. My networking equipment is in storage due to an eviction commencing January 8. So, I had no opportunity to any online transacting. Telephoning is not possible. My Church put me in a hotel. Any telephoning I do had to be from the front desk. For PayPal I do not have the time to tie up someone else's phone. My room has a defective phone. I know from dealing with you in the past, by telephone it is not possible to reach anyone live. Telephoning will only result in automated messages. Only if PayPal calls me will I get anyone live. So, telephoning is not an option. What this computer does is not my responsibility. You should have my bank numbers on file somewhere.

The only messages PayPal sends are about rankings awarded me for using their features, not about the problem at hand, the unauthorized payment. Therefore, I will eventually have to end my service with PayPal, canceling out once I get an answer. For what minimal contact I have had, PayPal has been irresponsible. Because of the amount of this transaction and their lack of accountability, I will not ever trust PayPal again.

Additionally, I am getting emails to return to the site only to view robo-responses, automatic responses that have nothing to do with the situation. No one seems to be reading anything. Through the virtual chat services, somebody checked the transaction and asked me what it was. If I knew that, then I would not have started any of this. I do not like 251.34 coming out of my checking account without knowing what it is.

I am not sure how much information I can post here. PayPal does not leave me very many options to contact. These pages assume that all transactions under it appear under "My Account" when mine only appears on my Credit Union statement. The amount is for 251.34 on January 12. Since I was displaced from my former address and did not knowingly have opportunity to engage in any online transactions, I do not remember making such a transaction. The statement shows the transaction while none show under "My Account." My Credit Union identified the telephone number on the same line as the transaction[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]as a PayPal contact number belonging to a party PP*ROBERTS USPP*ROBERTS. Just now I tried to submit a dispute, but it takes me into "My Account," where no transactions at all show. What is happening here. I am temporarily in a hotel waiting for something else to blow over and do not need any of this. Before I got displaced, I engaged with creditors to clean up my rating; but I only made a regular payment with one for a much lesser amount. Thank you to anyone who reads this.
