this, unfortunately, is a known problem and it still hasn't been fixed. It's actually a problem that i've personally been involved with reporting and the latest update on the issue is that they expect it to be fixed at the end of February. To be honest, i'd take this with a pinch of salt as it was expected to be fixed before Christmas already.
I know you can still add funds to your balance from your bank via the 'add funds' button but can't charge it through any checkouts or send money.
The second problem, the amount not showing in GBP I don't know much about it, aside from it's still not fixed 😞
