I've made a very simple PayPal section that needs a little extra code to store a variable dollar amount generated by a user selecting various items. The total sum is calculated as a CSS variable "#totalCost" and want to make the line <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="totalCost.value" />  happy.  Obviously, this doesn't work. My entire career has been in software development but am new to HTML and Javascript, so please be kind...
