How on earth is Paypal's dodgy practices even allowed in the UK?

I have funds in my account - I am verified confirmed proven who I am, where I live, who I bank with, where I spend my money adn what colour pants I am wearing!

Cannot send payments - random security issue

Cannot withdraw in under 72 hours - random security issue

Basically spend 5 months of daily phone calls wondering why my account is constantly subject to random security checks.

the answer - nobody knows because their scripted replies don't give them that information!

Escalate it to a "high manager" whatever one of those are to be told we don't know how long that will take.  So basically, you have £400 of my withdrawals pending for 72 hours, you have £760 of my balance that I can't spend and won't bother to withdraw as 72 hours starts all over again then.

You don't know your **bleep** from your elbow where helping customers is concerned and 90% of the time your telephone staff can't even pronounce my name correctlly never mind have me understand what they are tleling me!

Am so so done with Paypal at this point - I shall be seeking legal advice regarding your illegaly holding my funds and intend on closing my account with you both personal and business.  I would rather eat my own eye balls than have to deal with your dodgy automated service and incompetent staff one more time!  And the lies about "random security checks" is more than I can bear.  Just be honest you are rolling in the interest of the customers whose money you hold to ransom!!!!
