HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

  Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds,not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I am just now getting hit with this, I am having to pay for people's items to be shipped out of my own pocket, this is just LUDACRIS. I called paypal and they said OH IT'S JUST A RANDOM CHECK. HUH, I have never had an issue before with any of my customers on Ebay. And the requirements for them to do this to you are misleading and no truthful. I have been a seller with ebay since 2007, never ever had this happen before. I called Ebay and they laughed about what Paypal is doing and I told them I can no longer sell items on their site because of this. I am not going to continue to pay for people's shipping out of my own pocket and wait for them to release my own dam monies to me. What Paypal is doing is holding all of our monies so they can drawl interest on it and then after they make money on OUR monies they return it to us. I made sure I told paypal this on my phone call with them as well. They are hold a .99 cent payment from a customer I sold something too, are you serious. This is just the worst thing ever. We need to file a complaint with the BBB.

I agree! ebay and paypal has changed so much since day one! Holding payments for 21 days is another dumb idea!!! I sold an iPhone on ebay for 720, paypal took nearly 30 dollars and ebay took another 30! I could have sold it on craigslist.org and still made more money! 

Stop the greed!

I understand where you are coming from and I support you 100% about what PayPal is doing but you are worried about them drawing Interests on .99c .....You have to be kidding me !!!!!! ...... Right ???? ..... I have had more than $8,000 of my own money being held by these thieves called PayPal for close to a month and yes they are drawing interests on my money no doubt but I wouldn't be so p!ssed over .99c ......Sell more and you will feel like I do when all the funds come out of your own pocket during Christmas.

Yes they are holding two payments from me for .99 cents. .99 freaking cents. That is messed up and you are right what kind of interest are they going to drawl off of .99 cents. I could only imagine if I was you, them holding that much of your money, you need to switch to paymate.

Worse than that PayPal INSTANTLY transferred $2500 from my account for an eBay payment.  The seller backed out and asked that my payment be refunded.  PayPal tells me it might take up to 30 days for the refund.  I'm awaiting an explanation.  Will PayPal pay interest?  Horrible and frankly dishonest way to treat a customer.

The item delivery has been confirmed by UPS. The buyer acknowledges delivery of item in e-mail and is happy. Now my funds are being held? This is criminal and we as a community need to get this stopped,,When the item is paid for, there needs to be a confirmation of felivery and give me my **bleep** money,,IT ISN" PAYPALS MONEY!!!

I agree 100% I think its B.S.

One, your being held ransom by the buyer. 

Second, I use that money to pay for shipping and its by far cheaper to pay for shipping and print labels using paypal shipping, I'm paying way more for shipping going somewhere else.

I tried emailing customer support at Paypal, but they are worthless.

Third, I am prevented from making purchases cause my money is held in limbo, causing me to lose out in time sensitive bids.

I think theyre doing it to make money for themselves earning interest off our money while its sitting in their bank!

This is the best idea. They should hold the money until the buyer leaves a comment because someone on ebay scammed me. I just lost more than 100. I like the new paypal policy...
