For everyone who closes their account over this 3 more will sign up or increase their usage. Kudo's to PayPal for doing the right thing. Yes, there are other ways to transfer money. There are also other ways to 'transfer' information. Legally!!!

I too will be avoiding using my paypal account for the foreseeable future. I stand with WikiLeaks - speaking truth to power is always the right choice. If America and it's democracy are still sound, this will only make it stronger. If not, then it's our responsibility to tear it down to it's foundations and restore the noble ideal of our founding fathers.

I emailed the following message to PayPal: I strongly disagree with PayPal for closing the account of Wikileaks. Until you reopen the account of Wikileaks, I will refrain from purchasing anything online from Ebay, Amazon and any other company associated with PayPal. Your attempt at either colluding with or being pressured by the US and other governments to censor ethical journalists is incorrect. I've lived with nothing so I have no problem losing the small convenience and luxury that PayPal, Amazon and Ebay provide.

Where is the legal judgement against Wikileaks?
There isn't one, there are just rumours about taking them to court in the future.
Paypal have have jumped the gun here, and in effect are standing up for government censorship and summary justice.
Enough.
And if I have to stop using eBay over this too, then so be it.
Paypal have no business playing politics.

I here you man!
PayPal and the other corrupt institution are going to have to decide if they want to serve the public or if they want to serve, Fascist/Socialist World Corporations.
I can tell you I AM MAD AS **bleep** OVER THIS, and this is not going to go away for me.
PayPal and Ebay have both seem to be going corporate, in the since they are crowding out the small providers. This mess is just one more nail in the coffin.
Time for an Alternative!

Hey lizard, first of all use spell check! Paypal is a legal business, and a legal business has responsibilities to the communities is serves. I have not seen them make any political statements (oh that's right, you did that in your post). Out of curiosity, how does Wiki Leaks help your business, what kind of relationship do you have?Good for you Paypal, I support your decision not to support Illegal activities no matter who they are.

Gee! Ross I think it is spelled WikiLeaks, one word.
LOL!
You Know, Dude if you are going to criticize people for spelling then you need to check your own spelling, or maybe just shut up and let it slide. And for Dam! then do it in the same sentence you are criticizing the other guy.
You have to be a CIA Paid Troll Ross, else you would have some common sense and decency.
If you tell us you were a “Remote Viewer” that would pretty much round it out.
LOL!

...sorry but after reading some the 'leaks' i would have to say WE are one of the biggest threats to world peace and security...and who is the arbitrator of what we read and know...world governments?...no, thanks...long live groups as Wikileaks and people like Daniel Ellsberg!!!!
@kbsailor wrote:Can't agree with you on this. I have children in the military and feel that wikileaks is a threat to world security. After watching Assange on the tele the other day, it's apparent that it isn't about informing the public so much as it is about a personal vendetta against the US and several of its allies. I agree that we have the right to information WHEN it doesn't put the security of the world at risk. Besides, a good portion of the general public can't even begin to interpret the info.
