insufficient funds after payment clears

I've sent money on paypay, and pay pal didnt debit my bank for a few days, due to an unexpected other charge, the bank acount had insufficient funds. I want to know if I will be the only one charged, resulting in a negative balance, or if the person I sent money to will be charged, IE if the payment has already gone through can it still fail/ be charged back from there account?

If the payment has completed then the recipient has received it.

So paypal will most likely put your account into negative and try again a few days later to get the funds from your bank account.
