cannot remove disposed card "Your credit card has been declined by PayPal"

"Your credit card has been declined by PayPal " Trying to remove an old card and getting this message

I am sorry to know that your card is getting declined while you try to link it. I can understand this can be frustrating. Please refresh and see once or log out from the application and then see. It sometimes gets linked already and then gives this error. Or I would suggest you to please try after 24-48 hours in a different browser after clearing cookies and caches from your system. There are sometimes technical glitches that block the attempt temporarily. If you are still not able to fix this, I will suggest you contact us. You can find the number to reach us by going to the PayPal website, scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting Contact, then clicking the Call Us option.

Hi,

I'm trying to remove this card not link it or pay using it (as it's destroyed and a new one was added to my Paypal account).

UPDATE: tried again today an managed to remove it so all good.
