I had a closed bank account still attached to my Paypal account. When I made a purchase the transaction failed and resulted in a negative balance. There was another bank account on the Paypal account though. Why didn't Paypal use that?
Even after I removed the non-existent bank account they say they will retry it. Makes no sense. Fintech is doomed if they can't figure that one out.
