Credit-card cant be added

Hello everyone, the following situation is currently facing me. I closed my old account that had my credit card on it. Now I've reopened a new one with the same email but I can't add my credit card because it's supposedly already on another account. I don't know what to do now.

If you didn't remove it before closing the account then allow 72 hours to see if it auto-removes and if not then contact customer services to see if they can remove it for you?

Seems odd to close and open another account with the same email for no reason ie you have not moved countries?
