Paypal Charged me $1.00 USD? Is this to verify my account?

Good day, I just opened a paypal account linking my debit card to the account. Paypal took 1USD dollar from my account but I dont know if this is to verify my account to see if it can connect with my local bank/card. Did anyone else have this issue and how was it resolved?

Yes, the $1 charge will expire and drop off in a few days.
