"Processing..." forever

I sent a payment to a seller, as usual, but it gets to the screen that shows a circle going around and around with the word "Processing..." and it just keeps doing that forever.  I don't know if it paid or not. How can I get out of this.

Welcome to PayPal Community! I'm sorry to hear you're running into some issues processing a payment. Have you tried clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and history? That sometimes does the trick. If you're still running into issues after that, I'd recommend reaching out to the merchant to see if they can send you an invoice to make the payment through.
