cannot pay Verizon with an Amex through Paypal's bill pay

This is a very SPECIFIC glitch with Paypal - for some unknown reason, you cannot pay Verizon with an Amex through Paypal's bill pay. No idea why. My Amex is in my Wallet, but when I got to pay Verizon in Bill Pay, it is not listed. Verizon does accept Amex so there is no logic behind this. When will this be fixed?

I'm sorry to hear you're unable to use your Amex when trying to pay Verizon through Bill Pay. Your preferred card could have been declined by the card issuer or by PayPal. You can learn more about payment declines on our Help Center here. If it was declined by PayPal, it was likely our Security System. Our Security System reviews all transactions that take place and can limit what payment method is available if there's a higher-than-average risk. To help with this, I recommend ensuring you're logging in from one consistent device with your location services turned on. If the error persists, please don't hesitate to reach out to Customer Support.

I am having the exact same issue described by the post above. I am trying to use bill pay to pay Verizon. I'd ideally like to use my Amex card, which as the other poster stated, Verizon accepts, but my Amex card does not show up. This issue only exists with Bill Pay. My Amex cards show up and work in PayPal otherwise. Is there any estimation of when this might be fixed?

I understand you want to use your Amex card with PayPal Bill Pay. To provide one of the safest online payment services our internal security system reviews every transaction before it's approved. If the system deems any risk, the system may temporarily block the payment from going through or limit the payment options. Such situations can be resolved by trying the payment at a later date by clearing your cookies, history, cache, etc. from your bowser or using a different browser/device. If the issue persists, you can try with a different payment method. You may be able to see your Amex card as a payment method for your future transactions.

I've tried all of those solutions, except a different payment method - my Amex is my business card and this is a business expense so I must use my Amex. Seems like just an excuse to not fix a bug on the Paypal website, as many people have the same problem! I can pay ALL other bills with Amex, no issues. It is just Verizon (and yes, they DO accept Amex).

This has been happening to me too for months and I called Paypal and they opened up a case and of course, its never been fixed. The problem has now graduated for me to not being allowed to pay a bill for Verizon at all with any card. When I click on paybill, it lets me put an amount, but there is not button to continue. It is only with Verizon. I've tried with three different browsers, on my desktop and my phone and with and without VPN. Same issue.
