Wrong email on receiving payment

I had a email on my account that wasn’t verified, and now I’ve received money I have to verify which I can’t acsess the email to verify and receive the money, I have changed the email on my account but still haven’t received the funds, do I have to verify the email linked to the account at the time the money was sent? I entered the email as .co.Uk instead of .com

If the funds were sent to a non existent email address and so can never complete then it should show as unclaimed and/or with a cancel option on the senders side?
