Where has the money gone now Ive verified my account?

Someone has tried to send me a sum of money however I received an email stating the amount has exceeded limits set by European Law and that I needed to confirm my identity. I later received £00.01 from the sender. The sender said the money has come out of their account but has not been sent to me. I have verified my identity now. Will the money now be sent to my account now that I've verified my identity? Or where is the money from the sender?

What does it say on the transaction on the senders side, sent / payment / unclaimed / pending / unclaimed with a cancel option ???
