Hi @Sunshine97,
Welcome to the PayPal Community!
How your PayPal payment was funded determines how your refund is returned. Your refund will always go back to its original funding source.
If you paid using a card or bank via PayPal, your refund will be credited to the same bank/card.
For more help on this, see: https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/article/faq1212
When a refund is sent to an expired or cancelled card the money will still go back to the account for that credit card. Please allow up to 30 days from the date of the refund for the money to appear.
When a refund is sent to an account that is closed, by default the money will be redirected back to your PayPal balance. Please allow up to 30 days from the date of the refund for the money to appear.
I hope this helps & have a nice day!
-Rebecca.
