Upcoming changes to PayPal legal agreements

Just received an email from paypal regarding upcoming legal changes, paypal states that: business accounts will not be able to receive personal transactions starting 31 October 2022. what does personal transactions really mean? and how can this affect my business account or my online store?

They don't have to judge as the sender of the payment decides that.


Goods/Services Payments.

1. Invoice or Money Request.
2. Send money > Goods/Services.
3. Paypal.me link (if its a personal account then there should be the option to tick a box to make it a goods/services payment before you submit payment).

Friends/Family Payments.

1. Send money > friends / family (or trusted person).
2. Paypal.me link from a personal account where you don't select the option to make it a goods/services payment.


Advice is voluntary.

Means you can't receive or send friends/family payments.

However you have not said which country you are in so can't say if that was an option for your country in the first place.

How can PayPal judge whether a paypement is made from a friend/family?
