Unsuccessful transaction and i don't know why. Please help!

Today i transferred a certain amount of money from my linked bank card/account with my PayPal account to a friend abroad (i looked him up here on PayPal via his Gmail address). The transaction seemed to succeed by the fact that i received a receipt containing the transaction ID in an email sent to my Gmail inbox from PayPal. However, up until now my friend hasn't been able to receive the money yet. What's going on? The money must have been sent somewhere because my current bank balance no longer has such amount and my PayPal balance is also emptied. In case, the money, for some reason, can't reach my friend, what am i supposed to do then? Please, help me ASAP! Thanks in advance!

What country is he in?

Have you double checked the email address the funds were sent to and made sure its correct without any typos and the one linked and confirmed to his paypal account? To do so click on the transaction and check the 'details' page.

Have you sent in a currency he has or has added to his paypal account?

What does it say on your paypal account ie sent / completed or pending etc?

I double checked his Gmail address with him and we're both sure that it is a correct email address. I'm in Vietnam and he's from Europe, so i sent money (VND) to him (Euro). On my PayPal account, it says "Completed".

@kernowlass Hello, you there?!?! I want to know where my money went, who received it and absolutely want to reclaim it, no matter what, ASAP! Or else, I'll sue PayPal for sure. What a terrible service!

Well, I’m so sorry. I lost my temper…The money I intended to send to my friend. That money is supposed to help him medically, so it’s quite urgent. I promise that won’t happen again. Please, be understanding and help me find & reclaim that money back. I do really need it! Once again I’d like to apologize to you for such stupid words i said earlier.

Hi @AlbertRitter

Thank you for your apology to @kernowlass! She is a very helpful member or our Community! I understand the frustration you're experiencing with a payment you sent, and I'll be happy to help!

If this is the first time that your friend is receiving a payment in a different currency, they will have to accept it and indicate their preferences for receiving transactions in other currencies. They would have been notified of this in an email and/or message in their Secure Message Center. Please ask them to check for that and complete that step.

I hope this helps!
