US $'s PayPal balance to transfer my Canadian bank account in CDN $'s

My PayPal balance is in US dollars but I need to transfer these funds in Canadian dollars to my Canadian bank account. When I go to make the transfer PayPal doesn't offer the option to send in Canadian dollars, which I need for the transfer to my Canadian bank.

What gives?

You would need to convert the funds to CAD before you withdraw them in local currency to your bank account.
