“ To comply with international regulations, this transaction has been declined.”

I’m trying to make a membership payment to a Buddhist society in Western Australia but keep receiving this error message “ To comply with international regulations, this transaction has been declined.” I am based in singapore. I have checked PayPal’s list of countries and both are on it. I also tried using the Apple Pay option but received the same error message. Is the error on my end or the receiving party’s end? What can be done to resolve this issue? Thank you!

As part of Paypals security measures they regularly screen information and payments transacting through the system.

If there's a risk found the system may decline the transaction.

Unfortunately, PayPal is normally unable to provide more details as to what regulation is being triggered. This means that if a certain factor about a transaction is prohibited by one of those laws or regulations, PayPal won't be able to process this transaction.

You may ask the sender to try again at a later time. If the issue persist, you may reach out to the customer support team through the available contact options.

This has been happening lately with random customers to my online business.

Not all of them, only some.  Not all new Customers and some that have been buying regularly from me for years using PayPal.

It does not give them a reason for the sudden change.  I'm not sure if it is every time they use PayPal either.

Its frustrating and expensive, particularly if they do not reach out for another method of payment.  Customer often assume

it is an issue with my end of the payment, but I have not been able to replicate it from other Customer Accounts, so it is not.

I need a solution for them to try and I need it quickly.
